Bonsai tree - a tree in a pot
The family run business of British Bonsai has been trading since 2003 and was born from a love of Bonsai trees going back many years. We are situated in West Sussex, nestled at the foot of the South Downs, some 50 mile south of London, near Worthing and within easy travelling distance of Horsham, Brighton and Chichester. Our stock is always changing and we normally have around 500 Bonsai trees for sale on the web site, including Indoor Bonsai (Chinese Elm, Buddhist Pine, Money Trees, Japanese Holly, Chinese Pepper and Korean Box) and raw material.
We offer one of the largest ranges of Bonsai trees in the UK, including many native British trees as well as those imported from Korea, China, Japan and Europe. We also stock hundreds of accessories, pots (including handmade English, Chinese and Japanese Bonsai pots), Bonsai Soils and Bonsai tools to enable enthusiasts to look after their Bonsai trees and provide them with the maintenance that they require. At our Bonsai tree shop we endeavor to ensure that we hold a great range of options for our customers and potential customers.
Only selling trees well established in their pots, we ensure that they are in the best possible condition when they leave our nursery and we pride ourselves in knowing that customers will not be disappointed. As our stock is constantly changing, it is recommended that you visit our website regularly to see what we have to offer. If you have any questions about anything we stock or you require any further information then you can call or email us and we would be more than happy to assist you.
We do attend local Bonsai & Koi shows within West Sussex and regularly show our own trees at national & European Bonsai shows such as the Best of British Bonsai & the Noelanders show, where we have won some awards and recognition.
Unfortunately we are not currently open for public viewing, however collection of Bonsai & dry goods is possible by prior arrangement. Please use our Contact Us page or give us a call.
Bonsai originated in China and was further developed as a Japanese art form using trees; these trees are now known as bonsai, which literally translated means a tree in a pot, although many now use the term bonsai tree. Most bonsai trees are grown for outdoor use however you can purchase bonsai trees which are suitable for growing indoors too. A bonsai tree is pruned and shaped meticulously, maintaining its small size, resulting in a tree which appears to resemble certain aesthetics, in other words a miniature version of the full sized tree.
An indoor bonsai tree is a tree will grow quite happily indoors and suits a constant temperature and humidity. Providing it is given the right care and attention, a bonsai tree which is kept indoors can live as long as an outdoor bonsai tree.
Bonsai trees are simply stunning and offer a visual centerpiece and focal point, both inside your home or in your garden. With the right care and attention they will flourish and grow with you. For any owner, it is important to keep your bonsai tree well maintained otherwise it can tend to grow outside the intended boundaries if left to its own devices and ruin it’s appearance as a true Bonsai.
